Zane State Graduation

Today is the start of something wonderful and new for the now alumni of Zane State College.

This afternoon nearly 300 students received their diploma from Zane State College. President of the school, Doctor Paul Brown explains what it means to be able to prepare this many students to go into the world.

"It’s great. I mean it’s healthy for the communities that we live in because you know in our history which goes back about 46 years, 75 percent of over 11,000 graduates still live and work in this community. So they’re giving back everyday and it goes all the way back to the first graduating class."

Now that these students have completed this step of their education, brown says, the sky’s the limit for the graduates.

"Oh I think that for some of these folks I think some of them will continue to look for jobs in the community. I think that some of them may take some summer internships that will help them get their foot in the door for the companies that they wanna apply for."

Brown also says many of the students plan to continue their studies at a larger university.
