ZANESVILLE, OH – There are some new courses at Zane State College aimed at those looking to get into the cannabis industry.

Recently, Zane State teamed up with Green Flower to launch 6 new, online cannabis education and workforce development classes.

Max Simon, the CEO of Green Flower, says these classes will focus on different areas of the cannabis industry like cultivation, product development, retail sales, compliance, as well as the medical cannabis space.

“Despite the stigma, the cannabis industry is a very exciting place to build a career.” Simon said. “That’s because it’s still very early days and so there’s a lot of growth these companies are experiencing. There’s also a lot of room to move up into new positions, new roles because these companies are always evolving and changing. And because it’s an industry that genuinely helps people and people love to work in.”

Simon says in 2025, the first full year of recreational sales, the State of Ohio surpassed more than $836 Million.

He also shared a little about his company and why they chose to partner with Zane State.

“Green Flower creates cannabis curriculum that’s designed to help people enter the cannabis workforce and we’ve been partnering with schools for many years now.” Simon said. “That’s because when you partner with a school like Zane State it brings credibility, it brings trust, and it really brings legitimacy to the people taking this education for their careers.”

The first round of cannabis education workforce development courses begins on Tuesday, May 5th.
