Zanesville City Crews Spring into Pothole Repairs
ZANESVILLE, OH – With the weather becoming more spring-like, the City of Zanesville is working to repair the potholes around town.
Mayor of Zanesville, Don Mason, said crews were out today filling potholes with a hot mix of asphalt.
“I’m proud to say the City Crews are filling many of the potholes with hot mix,” Mason said. “We’re blessed in our area to have Shelly & Sands, which has opened up their hot mix plant in order to fulfill their responsibilities with the I-70 Project. So, Shelly & Sands was able to sell to the City hot mix. The reason this is important is that many people have seen the use of a cold patch, it just doesn’t seem to stay in the pothole very long.”
Mayor Mason also said the City has 2 street sweepers out to help clean up the salt from our last winter storm.
He also said he is very happy with the sparsity of potholes around the city.
“We’re getting to them pretty quick,” Mason said. “We think some of the potholes were caused by snow blades hitting maybe a rough area and then forcing some of the asphalt out. I would certainly hope by the end of the week that those potholes out there will have been fixed.”
Mayor Mason said if you see a pothole pop up in your area, you can go to coz.org.
Once you’re there you can report your concern.
