Zanesville Fire Department Promotes Van Denbark to Lieutenant

One local fire department has promoted one firefighter as it’s newest lieutenant.

A ceremony was held Friday at the Council Chambers where Doug Van Denbark moved up in rank to serve as the Zanesville Fire Department’s newest Lieutenant. We had the opportunity to talk to Van Denbark and said hes proud to move up in the ranks and tells us his goals for the future.

“To continue the excellence of the fire department and try to do the best I can for the citizens of Zanesville and the fire department,” said Van Denbark. “I’m excited for the opportunity, it’s humbling and it’s exciting and I’m just ready to get started.”

Van Denbark replaced former Lieutenant Ed Kinsel.
