Zanesville Jaycees C-Day success

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Zanesville Jaycees held their annual Collection Day food drive today in partnership with WHIZ.
Zanesville Jaycees has been putting on C-Day since 1949.
“It’s awesome, it’s one of the biggest events that we do every year. In a nutshell what we do is field calls from folks that are homebound and go pick up donations to replenish the supplies for the Salvation Army, because this time of year, holidays are coming up and those supplies get low, and we just try to replenish it to get them through the holiday season,” says Mike Walton, President of Zanesville Jaycees.
Individuals who call in during the event can tell the group where they are located, and the Jaycees team will come pick up your donations for you, so you don’t have to worry about the heavy lifting.
“We’re always looking for members, because our organization, we are very busy, we do a lot with the community, whether that be the fireworks for Stars and Stripes on the River, Christmas for Kids, the Summer Concert Series, so we’re always looking for more manpower and support, so we would love for people to check out our Facebook page and see about joining, that would be awesome,” says Walton.
The Zanesville Jaycees will be having more events soon. For more information on those or joining the organization visit their website or Facebook page.
