Zanesville Man Dead after 3 Vehicle Accident on I-70 WB

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a three vehicle accident that claimed the life of a local man.

It happened shortly after 10:30 this morning on I-70 Westbound near Milepost 151 in Muskingum County.

According to the Zanesville post, a vehicle was travelling on I-70 West in the left lane when it experienced a flat tire and attempted to move into the median.

The driver then lost control of his vehicle and struck another vehicle also in the left lane that was driven by 50-year-old Robert Murgatroyd of Zanesville.

Murgatroyd’s vehicle was forced into the right lane and struck a semi which caused his vehicle to overturn onto the left side of the roadway.

Murgatroyd was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Muskingum County coroner.

The two other drivers were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
