Zanesville Man Sentenced in Assault

A Zanesville man who pleaded guilty in connection with the assault of a homeless man learned his fate in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.  Judge Kelly Cottrill sentenced 27-year-old Michael Estep to 11 years in prison.  In May Estep pleaded guilty to felonious assault, assault, abduction and two counts of disrupting public service. A number of other charges including attempted murder were dropped a sentencing. Police say the charges resulted after 58-year-old Timothy Jenkins was found assaulted on Van Buren Street in February.
