Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department expansion
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department met with the Muskingum County Commissioners to update the commissioners on the current expansion project.
After the Muskingum County Board of Elections relocated, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department has been working to expand their office space. Health Commissioner, Corey Hamilton, said this meeting with the commissioners was to talk about proposed building blueprints.
“We’re at a place where we need some additional ‘go forth’ permissions from the county commissioners. We hit a little snag in the road on how we’re going to utilize space and how to gain additional square footage in that building. So, we’re just here to talk about it again, make sure we’re on the right path, so we can start the contracting process,” said Hamilton.
Hamilton said the project will pull all the health department services into one building. Shes said this well reduce confusion, which will in turn better help serve the community.
“It will allow people to know exactly where we are, regardless of what kind of service they need. We also think that’s it’s going to help partner a little bit better with some other community entities because we’re going to gain some additional meeting space,” said Hamilton.
