Zanesville Plant Manager Charged In Chase
Zanesville Police Thursday announced that they have charged a local plant manager involved in a police chase last week.
Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says 47-year-old Gerald Sherman of Hamilton, Ohio is charged with failure to comply with the order of a police officer and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
AK Steel Vice President of Government and Public Relations Alan McCoy says that Sherman is the AK Steel plant manager in Zanesville.
Detective Roush says on April 12th police officers attempted to pull over a 2008 Nissan Armanda SUV on Linden Avenue for erratic driving.
Roush says when the Officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver failed to stop, resulting in a police chase northbound on Linden Avenue and westbound on Military Road. Roush says the chase came to a successful end at the intersection of Military Road and Dresden Road.
The case will now be presented to a Muskingum County Grand Jury next week.
Sherman has posted bond and was released from custody.
A-K Steel officials said they had no comment on the incident.
