Zanesville Pottery Week Underway
Pottery enthusiast, Patti Bourgeois, has been coming to Zanesville for 25 five years to showcase her unique pieces.
The Massachusetts native is one of the many dealers participating in the annual Pottery Lovers show. The event kicked off Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Express in Zanesville, and she said its always a success.
“This is certainly our favorite show of the year, the one that’s really well-attended by pottery lovers, people come out who absolutely share the same passion, ‘we suffer the same affliction,’ is what I tell everybody because we all do the very same thing,” Bourgeois said. “We all come here every year for the week and just trade pots back and forth, and every room has pottery for sale on all three floors in the hotel.”
Most of her pieces are rich in Zanesville history. Some of her favorites are one-of-a-kind Weller and Roseville works of art.
“We actually started collecting Roseville pottery in 1990,” she said. “The public is welcome to come in and browse around and see some of the things that were actually made here and brought back.”
The show is open to the public and runs through Saturday. For more information, visit potterylovers.org.
