ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Christ’s Table receives a check from a local organization.

The Zanesville Rotary Club has two annual fundraisers, the 12 days of Christmas and more recently the rose sell. And they presented Christ’s Table with a $1,000 check.

“The dollars that we raise on both of those fundraisers gives us the opportunity to make contributions to organizations like Christ’s Table,” said Daybreak Rotary Club of Zanesville President Maryjane Shackeleford. “When there is a need or a gap in their funding. So we are very excited to be able to do this. And very appreciative because if people didn’t buy the roses or the 12 days tickets we wouldn’t have the dollars to do this.”

Schackleford said the Rotarian mission is service above self. Christ’s Table Executive Director Keely Warden said she’s very thankful for the generosity of the rotary club.

“It’s not just about the monetary commitment that rotary has for us at Christ’s Table,” said Warden. “It’s the love, and the respect they have for our mission and what we do. They’re here for us all year. They were here all last week volunteering, severing those that we serve. And then twice a year they come out help us with our canister drive. So their volunteer commitment is just as precious to us as the monetary commitment.”

Warden said the $1,000 they received Friday will go to purchasing meat.
