ZDGA To Host Golf Show

The Zanesville District Golf Association Golf Show is set to tee off Saturday.

If you have a case of the winter blues and are missing warm summer mornings out on the course, you’re in luck. You have the opportunity to enjoy the season a few months early. Mike Durant, Head Golf Professional at the Zanesville Country Club told us some of what they have to offer at the gathering.

“We also have several local golf courses on hand to offer merchandise at discounted prices. We have a ladies clinic, we have a junior golf clinic and we have a long drive contest. We also will have food and drink available for all the participants.”

Durant says there will also be four golf club manufacturers present with their newest equipment. And you’ll have the chance to test it all out. We also talked to President of the ZDGA and PGA Golf Pro at Green Valley Golf Club, Steve Galloway, who told us the money goes toward a wonderful cause.

“The money is raised at the golf show this year will go toward our junior programs throughout the summer and last year we had close to 100 sponsors throughout our ZDGA Campaign. Since 1998 we’ve given out over $44,000 in sponsorship money.”

If you don’t have a ticket, you can still buy one at the door. The cost is $5 for the evening. Anyone is invited to attend. The event will run from 11AM to 3PM at Eagle Sticks Country Club.
