Rick Mohler, Robotics Adviser for the Robotics Team said it’s his first year as being the adviser for the club, but he’s expecting a great performance from his students.

He said the experience that some of the upper-class students have from being in these competitions in the past few years will certainly play in their favor.

“Basically, it’s going to be like the state competition that they went to, but with the top teams from each state. With the robot they have now, as long as they make it into the round robin, I expect them to represent the state and district very well,” said Mohler.

The robotics team performance at the state competition this past March allowed them to be qualified for both Nationals and Worlds competition.

The Nationals competition will be held this week at Council Bluffs, Iowa, while the Worlds competition will be at Louisville, Kentucky later in April.

While the robotics teams performance at Nationals has no impact on their qualification to make it into the Worlds competition, Christopher Sheline, Junior member in the Robotics Team said they would continue to try their best at Nationals.

“I think that we will do really well, we are all really excited. There will be around 350 different teams there so it will be some good competition and I’m really excited to go there,” said Sheline.
