Zicha Wins 600th

– Muskingum University volleyball Head Coach Elizabeth Zicha notched career win win 600 against Denison University Tuesday night. The Muskies beat the Big Red in four sets, 3-1 (25-23, 15-25, 25-21, 25-18).
Zicha, the sixth winningest active coach in NCAA Division III, became just the 10th coach all-time in Division III to achieve the 600 win milestone. Throughout her illustrious career, Zicha has garnered a .689 winning percentage and has taken her teams to eight NCAA National Tournaments, including three NCAA quarterfinal appearances and one third place finish.
The Muskies were paced at the net by senior Gretchen Van der Sluijs who registered a match-high 17 kills and .484 hitting percentage. Junior Diana Biller logged 10 spikes with a .348 hitting percentage and added seven blocks, while sophomore McKenzie Smith recorded seven spikes.
Sophomore Lindsey Worthington directed the Muskie attack with 25 assists and senior Nicole Biblis added 23 digs to pace the defensive effort.
Muskingum hits the court next on Friday at the Capital University tournament against St. Mary’s at 2:30 p.m.
