ZPD Finds Guns Downtown
Three guns were found this morning by the Zanesville Police Department while they were investigating a report of suspicious activity.
According to Lt. Bill Shaw officers were called to the 600-block of Shinnick Street around 3:45. When they arrived one suspect ran and attempted to hide inside an apartment building. A second suspect was then found inside the doorway of that building and was arrested for falsification.
When officers searched the area they found a 9mm semi-automatic pistol thrown in between two buildings. Nearby they also discovered a loaded 12 gauge shotgun and a .357 Magnum revolver. The revolver had been stolen earlier this year.
Lt. Shaw says that a third suspect, a white male, was seen running away from the scene with a rifle.
The incident remains under investigation.
