ZPD: Maysville High School Principal Arrested

The Zanesville Police Department Thursday announced the arrest of an area school principal. 49-year-old Henry Jackoby, who is the principal at Maysville High School, was taken into custody on a charge of Tampering with Evidence.
Detective Phil Michel says on December 24th officers received a report concerning a sexual assault that had occurred within the city of Zanesville. He says an investigated commenced and information was developed about where the alleged incident was to have occurred.
A search warrant was obtained and items of evidentiary value were recovered. Detective Michel says it was determined during the investigation that Jackoby had tampered with evidence. Jackoby was arrested and was taken to the Zanesville City Jail.
His bond is set at $100,000. Anyone with information concerning the incident is asked to contact Zanesville Police. No further information will be released at this time. The investigation continues.
Maysville Local Schools Superintendent Ruth Zitnik says she was informed of the arrest of Jackoby Thursday (today) and is shocked and saddened by the news.
The district plans to fully cooperate with the Zanesville Police Department investigation into the incident. Zitnik says Jackoby has been on administrative leave since December 31st. Cindy Miller has been named interim principal. Zitnik says counselors will be brought into the school to be available for staff and students.
