ZPD Officer and His K-9 Partner Shot

According to Detective Sergeant Ric Roush a Zanesville Police Officer and his dog have been shot.

It was reported on the police scanner that it was Patrolman Mike Schiele who was shot and his canine partner Bosco.

Neither Detective Roush or Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz could confirm the name.

Seargent Roush did say the officer was shot once in the leg and the dog shot twice. Roush says the outlook is not good for the dog.

Roush says the situation appears to have started with an altercation and escalated from there.

According to Roush the suspect is still on the loose.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says they are still searching in different areas of town for the suspect.
