ZPD: Pedestrian Hit Crossing Road Dies ***Update***

The Zanesville Police Department says the pedestrian struck by a minivan Wednesday has died. Police say it happened around 1:30 in the afternoon on Adair Avenue near the Linden Avenue intersection. The victim is identified by authorities as 59-year-old Daniel Grant of Zanesville. Lt. Bill Shaw says Grant tried to cross the road when he was struck by the vehicle. Police say he was not using a crosswalk. Shaw says the driver will not be charged.
