 Purple Heart Dedication
Cookouts and fireworks aren't all Independence Day is meant to be, and Friday a large crowd gathered to honor the true meaning of the holiday.
From County Commissioners to soldiers from past and present, visitors gathered in the Muskingum County Court yard to show off their patriotic pride in a Purple Heart Monument Unveiling Ceremony.

While many spend the holiday with their families inside, and away from the rain, others chose to hoop it up in the pouring rain.
Downtown Thornville was jam packed as many braved the rain for their version of Gus Macker, called Thorn Dunker 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament.
