Back to school is just around the corner and clothes shopping can be expensive.

The Salvation Army is holding its annual School Clothing Give-a-way. Low income families can pick out three to five outfits for their kids. Captain Diane Campbell said in this economy every little bit helps.

"Well, I think it is important because it helps people that maybe their money is limited," said Campbell. "This way they don't have to put money out for school clothing they could use it for their utilities and/or food."

The Salvation Army has been offering free school clothes for more than 20 years. Last year they served 975 people, giving away over 6,000 items.

"I look for us to be a little more this year it was really a challenge to get some of the clothing last year," said Campbell. "So we're hoping we have enough this year to meet the needs. "

Free School Clothing Give-a-way will take place next Thursday and Friday from 10-3:00 at the Salvation Army in Zanesville. Clients need to bring a photo i-d and social security number for each child.

Donations are also being requested. Gently used clothing, especially young girls and boys -- which can be dropped off between 8-4:30 Monday- Friday.
