One woman's story is impacting kids around the United States. It's the story of Johanna Orozco; a victim caught in an abusive relationship.

Raised in Cleveland, Johanna met Juan Ruiz Junior as a child. In 10th grade, they would go on their first date. After two years of being in an abusive relationship, Johanna officially left Juan. The problem of teen dating violence will take center stage in Zanesville on Monday. Soroptimist International of Zanesville is sponsoring an all-day program for students at Zanesville High School. The featured speaker of the event  will tell the story of a teenager who was dating the same guy since second grade – in the tenth grade they become sweethearts – in the eleventh they became inseparable. In 1992, a Cincinatti couple's daughter was murdered by her ex-boyfriend who had been stalking her. Tuesday, the couple made a visit to Zanesville to speak about the importance of recognizing teen dating violence

There is now a new legal option available for juveniles in abusive relationships.

The Ohio senate unamiously passed House Bill 10 which allows juvenile court judges to issue protection orders for youths under the age of eighteen.

"Abuse is on the increase, dating violence is increasing over the last several years and we are sending a message that there is help and protection for them," says Janie Malloy from Response.
