11 miles of road resurfacing planned over summer

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Monday, the Muskingum County Commissioners heard bids for planned resurfacing of six roads in the county.

The Shelly Company was the only group to place a bid and their bid was at $689,000. Matt Russell, who is the administrative deputy with the Muskingum County Engineer’s Office, said that the county had estimated the project would cost $640,000.

The roadways that are planned to be resurfaced are as followed.

11.13 miles in total will be resurfaced. Dietz, West Carlisle, and Lodge are county roads. Hill, Amanda, and Rodney are Cass Township roads. Russell said that they have until Sept. 16 to complete the project, and work should begin in late summer.
