23rd Annual Antique and Classic Auto, Truck, Bike,Tractor Show

Classic car enthusiast’s are preparing for the 23rd Annual Antique and Classic Auto, Truck, Bike,Tractor Show.
Duncan Falls Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their Antique and Classic Show at Sam Hatfield Stadium on Sunday, September fourth with registration starting at 10:30Â a.m. Duncan Falls Volunteer Fire Department’s Fire Chief, Don Alexander, says this show is a way for the fire department to raise funds for new equipment.
“A couple of our members, myself included, like going to car shows,” said Alexander. “We had older cars you know we would go there and we thought ‘Well gee, we could do that.’ We could put a car show on our selves and raise some money for the fire department and give the community something to do. It just started out the first year and we just kept doing it every year since then.”
According to Alexander their show is known for their unique awards that are carved out of wood. This year they’ll be passing out six special awards for past fire department members and people of the community. These special awards will come in the form of wood carved Maltese Cross candy dishes, but that’s not all that Alexander is looking forward to this Sunday.
“It’s just fun to see all the different older cars out there especially some that aren’t made any more you don’t see very many Studebaker on the road, you don’t see very many Hudson, things like that and my dream is someday somebody will bring a Pierce-Arrow car to the car show,” said Alexander.
