2026 Foot By Foot Auction Comes to a Close
ZANESVILLE OH – The Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project Annual Foot By Foot Auction wraps up this weekend.
Over 60 artists got involved to create works that honored America’s 250th Birthday and show off the sweet side of the summertime.
The Gallery will have a closing party on Saturday, June 27th from 5 to 8PM, with final bids being due in by 7:30.
Shelby Spilker, the Director of the ZAAP Gallery, says it was great to see works from artists she knew and others that were just starting to dip their toes into creating.
“It’s so cool to see everybody come out and it’s not just artists, it’s everybody in the community.” Spilker said. “Anyone’s welcome to make one, so it’s really cool to see so many names that I don’t even recognize, people who may have never even been in here before and they get a chance to work on something and stick it on our wall and now they’re kind of forever a part of ZAAP.”
The closing of the Foot By Foot Auction will feature live music from Paul Manini, refreshments, as well as mystery boxes with artwork from various artists up for grabs.
Spilker says there also may be some changes happening at the ZAAP Gallery, thanks to a recent grant they received from the Muskingum County Community Foundation.
“MCCF was kind enough to give us a sizable grant to improve our Gallery and kind of create a more welcoming and accessible space for our members and our customers.” Spilker said. “So our thoughts are, we’re going to put in a full new seating area, where people feel comfortable to sit and hang out. We’re also going to put in more retail space, still everything is going to be handmade, but it’s just going to be smaller, more affordable, something you can take and just grab and take home with you, so it’ll be exciting to have.”
The ZAAP Gallery is located at 625 Main St. here in Zanesville. For more information, you can head to their website.
