Sign Ups are Open for the 19th Annual Race for Grace!

ZANESVILLE, OH – The 19th Annual Race for Grace is set to step off on Thanksgiving Day!

The Race for Grace will begin at Grace United Methodist Church on Thursday, Nov. 26th at 8:30 AM.

Matt Schreiber, the Race Director, says the proceeds from the Race will go towards Eastside Community Ministries Choice Food Pantry as well as the Noon Rotary’s Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds Program.

“It’s a fun way to come out and start your Thanksgiving morning.” Schreiber said. “You get a little bit of exercise in, a little sense of community, bring the whole family down, and actually, burn some calories before you enjoy that Thanksgiving meal.”

There is a 5K run that is $30 to sign up as well as a Free 1 Mile Walk.

Schreiber says they will be accepting runners and walkers all the way up until Race Morning, but the cost will go up to $35.

“This is the 5th year that I’ve kind of been involved with the planning of it and it’s… just to see the growth has been tremendous.” Schreiber said. “The first year I think, I took over in 2022, we had about 180 participants, last year we had 450, so I mean, we have people who have done it for years prior to me being involved but then watching the sign ups, mom, dad, kids, grandma, grandpas all signing up together is pretty cool.”
