2026 Zane’s Trace Commemoration

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Annual Zane’s Trace Commemoration kicked off on Friday afternoon with a ribbon cutting.
The Commemoration is taking place again on Saturday and will feature the 5 and 10k race beginning at Zane’s Landing, the Parade beginning at 10AM, and following the parade the activities pick back up at Putnam Landing with the Kid’s fishing contest, karaoke, and a free Wrestling event later on in the evening.
Mayor Don Mason says he appreciates the efforts made by the volunteers to bring back the Commemoration so future generations can learn about the impacts Zanesville had in shaping the country.
“And really, accentuate our history at the same time that America 250 is being advertised and brought to everyone’s attention.” Mason said. “So I encourage everybody to come back down to Putnam, one of the original areas, of not just Zanesville but of Ohio, of the Northwest territory. Just enjoy yourselves, there’s plenty of food, there’s beverages, there’s music, and a lot of people have put their time in on arts and crafts and you can buy everything from pottery to woodwork”
Sunday will feature live music starting at 11AM and going until 7 and the beloved car show will return from 10AM until 4PM.
Mayor Mason says his favorite part of the commemoration is seeing people out enjoying all there is to offer, from the history to the live acts.
“It’s always exciting to see people who beat me to the party, because that means I must be at the right spot.” Mason said. “A lot of people have already turned out here.”
