Newark Police looking for tips in gas station robbery

NEWARK, Ohio – The Newark Police Department is looking for the publics help to identify the person or persons involved in two robberies at a Newark gas station.

On Sept. 21 at 3:14 a.m. a suspect entered the Duke Gas Station at 900 North 21st Street wearing a dark gray sweatshirt pulled over his head. The suspect had a large knife and demanded cash before running away.

On Oct. 10 a similar situation happened at the Duke Gas Station at 1919 Mt. Vernon Road at 3:16 a.m. A man entered with a shawl or small blanket covering his head. He too produced a knife and demanded cash.

It’s unknown if it is the same man in both robberies. However, in both cases the suspect is described only as a white male, between 5’8” and 6’ tall, between 185-200 lbs., and someone who took efforts to shield his face from cameras.
