Engineers showcase works at Expo

Expo

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Everything from scale model engines to miniature guns could be found Saturday at the Mid-East Ohio Engineer’s Expo at the County Fairgrounds.

This is the Expo’s ninth year. It gives local engineers local engineers a chance to showcase their skills with machines and scale models. Director Paul Debolt said there is a wide variety of displays each year at the Expo.

“What you’ll see here is internal combustion engines, steam engines, hot air engines, miniature guns. Just about anything that has a mechanical function or is used in engineering or design. Most of these are miniature versions of the full scale ones,” said Debolt.

Hours of work go into each and every machine. Debolt said this is becoming a very popular hobby.

“It takes a lot of machining skill to make a lot of these. And most of these guys in here understand what they’ve built really well. And people like to come in and look at what they’ve made,” said Debolt.

The event takes place every year at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds.
