Riesbeck’s Food Markets has raised donations for the Cancer Concern Coalition through selling Breast Cancer Awareness Lunchboxes, employees purchasing Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirts, and donations from DeLallo Foods.

“It started here in the South Zanesville Store only and then the company took it on all of our stores, which we have 14 stores up and down the Ohio Valley,” said Consumer Advocate Jane Dombroski. “So because of all those contributions again we were able to raise $41,000.”

Dombroski said that this annual donation started when an employee had breast cancer and the store wanted to support her and others in the community. Genesis HealthCare, Patient Financial Advocate Gena Dunn says part of the contributions will go towards their patients travel expenses.

“It effects not only the community, but our employees as well,” said Dombroski. “So we want to take care of everybody and this is our good way to do that.”
“It’s a lot of additional trips back and forth that you normally don’t have to make,” said Dunn. “So the gas cards tend to help that some.”
