The Salvation Army is getting ready for its big toy and food distribution on Thursday.

Volunteers and the Women’s Auxiliary have been busy wrapping up the last of this years Angel Tree Gifts.

Member Beth Archer said that the volunteers have been putting in a lot of hard work since they began working on the project back in October when they were taking applications and making the angel tags.

“One of the workers here Karen Walker distributed the angel tags to the angel trees that were located around this community,” said Beth Archer auxiliary member. “Then people selected them, went shopping, brought the toys back in. and now we are getting ready to give those toys out on Thursday.

With temperatures expected to be near single digits on Thursday, Archer recommends to come in a little bit early.

“People have been given a time to come, if I were them I would come in a little bit before that time because they don’t wanna have to stand outside,” explained Archer.

Archer said the community has been very supportive and that she works with a great group of people that are trying to give kids of Muskingum County a nice Christmas this year.
