Upgrades Coming to Library Branch

The Dresden Branch of the Muskingum County Library will undergo some renovations.
Muskingum County Library System Assistant Director Blair Tom said the Dresden Branch is one of the most used locations and is due for some updating since it hasn’t been renovated in 17 years.
Phase one of the redesign will begin December 26.
“That means packing up the books and moving out the existing furnishings. Phase 2 will become January 3rd of 2017 and our final phase will be when we move back in will begin on January 16th,” explained Assistant Director Blair Tom.
Tom said the new design is based on how the Dresden community utilizes the facility.
“We’re adding some computer access and organizing that and adding outlets so that they can all be located in one very convenient spot. We’re adding outlets for people to recharge their own devices as well,” said Tom. “The children’s area incorporates some interactive opportunities that we’re really excited to share with young people.”
Due to the renovations the Dresden Branch will be closed to the public beginning December 26 and is scheduled to reopen to the public on January 27.
