ZANESVILLE, Ohio – For one night only at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds big time wrestling came back to Zanesville.

A near sellout crowd saw the return of professional wrestling to Zanesville for the first time in a decade. World Classic Professional Big Time Wrestling’s co-prompter, Bobby Fulton, said fans that came out tonight got their money’s worth and then some with six total matches.

“Zanesville is rich in wrestling history. From way back in the 30s, 40, 50s, and 60s. We’re excited about being here in Zanesville tonight. These aren’t backyard wrestlers. These are seasoned pros. They are either on their way up or they are legendary like Shane Douglas,” said Fulton.

One of the biggest names in wrestling was there tonight, too. Veteran wrestler Road Warrior Animal has a special connection to Ohio. His son, James Laurinaitis, was an All-American linebacker at Ohio State.

“[James Laurinaitis and Road Warrior Animal] have a special camaraderie with the people of Ohio and the people that supported him. I’m talking years ago Animal dominated professional wrestling and world championship wrestling and later on WWF and the WWE,” said Fulton.

Fulton said they hope to come back to Zanesville again in the future.
