Murder-Suicide Investigation

Authorities in Licking County report a murder-suicide involving a deputy sheriff is under investigation.

Sheriff Randy Thorp said at around 8:15 p.m. Thursday they responded to a shooting at 4567 Price Road in Newark.

Upon arrival they found two victims shot and deceased in the home.

The victims are 34-year-old David Lewandowski and his wife 24-year-old Elizabeth Lewandowski. Mr. Lewandowski was a deputy sheriff assigned to the patrol division. His wife, was a registered nurse at Licking Memorial Hospital.

BCI from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office was called to the scene and will conduct the investigation.
