Bill’s Stained Glass displayed at the Y-Bridge Arts Festival

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Y-Bridge Arts Festival wrapped up it’s two-day run this evening and WHIZ spoke to one of the artists who got to showcase their work.

Bill Bird is the owner of Bill’s Stained Glass Studio in Zanesville and an instructor at Julie’s ARTery. Bird has 47 years of experience with stained glass and says that it’s nice having the arts festival to show off his work.

“Well the nice thing about it, you certainly do get a lot of exposure for it,” Bird said. “So if you do not have a storefront or all that, I’m a home-based studio, so it gives me a chance for people to see what I’m doing and also get private commissions.”

Bill’s Stained Glass has a Facebook page where you can reach out to request private commissions. Bird invites anyone who’s interested in learning the craft to reach out to Julie’s ARTery.

“It’s a fun hobby to do and we also teach classes. So if you want to learn how to do stained glass, we have a couple of classes where you can come down and then you can come in and work and use studio time. We provide all the equipment and you can do the work without having to go to the expense of all the equipment,” Bird said.
