ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Newton Township Community Days is excited for their three day festival this weekend at the Township Fire Department.

The weekend will consist of a three day flea market, bingo, a parade and even a chicken barbecue. Newton Township Community Days President, Dora Maxwell said the Community Days Festival is a huge benefit for the community and the support has been amazing.

“We are going to have the three day flea market, on Friday night we are having bingo. We are going to have a square dance here on Saturday evening. Saturday at 10:00 am will be the parade, we are having a duck race so people can win $200 for the first place duck and then the car show will be on Sunday too,” said Maxwell.

Maxwell said this event has been going on for three years now, and it has already doubled in size.

“It gets the community involved. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have this and it brings a lot of revenue in, not only just for us, but also for all of our shoppers. We have doubled our vendors this year compared to last year, so that means a lot for these people as well,” said Maxwell.

The events start up tomorrow at 9:00 am at the Newton Township Fire Department, and they will have a variety of different events on each day.
