COSHOCTON, Ohio – One of Coshocton’s favorite Christmas traditions helped to ring in the holiday season Sunday afternoon at Coshocton High School.

The Coshocton Community Choir has been putting on their Christmas Concert for 46 years. Choir president Diane Jones said they sang a mixture of old time classics and new Christmas music in front of a sellout audience.

“The concert title is ‘O’ Holy Night.’ That is just such a traditional carol that many people are familiar with. And we sing new songs and some traditional songs and we are just so happy to do that for the community,” said Jones.

The choir has over 100 members in their adult chorus and they also have a teen and youth chorus. Jones said this year they tried something new in their show.

“This concert is pretty special because we are doing a tableau type of experience with experiences from the original story, the Biblical story. With that tableau it’s kind of like the mannequin challenge that people are doing when people just kind of pose and we capture the moment that way,” said Jones.

The Coshocton Community Choir’s next performance is Dec. 11 in Newcomerstown at 7 p.m.
