Community Celebrates Zemba Field Day

Nearly 2,000 people participated in the 16th Annual Zemba Family Field Day.
Locals of all ages came to enjoy the community event. Kids operated machinery, played in bounce houses, and even tried their luck at a pig chase.
"We come out here every year since it started and it’s just a family tradition," said Shayla Kinney. "It’s not raining and it’s not too hot."
"My favorite part is the pig chase and the fun games," said Haley Peck. "Me and my brother likes to ride all of the equipment that they have."
Allison Sanders is a long time attendee. But this year’s field day is bittersweet. Saunders usually attends family field day with her grandmother and although she wasn’t unable to make this year, Sanders wanted to send her a special message.
"I would like to tell my grandmother Debbie Spring, I love you and you mean the world to me," said Sanders. "She inspires everything that I do. She’s my inspiration."
This event was free to the public. But parking cost nonperishable food items to benefit Eastside Community Ministries.
