Pet of the week: Pyro

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Animal Shelter Society has a sweet boxer mix that will pack quite a punch to your heart.
Meet Pyro, a 9-month-old boxer – lab mix that has a sweet and loving personality and loves to play. Nancy Geiger of the Animal Shelter Society said she loves to play fetch and run around, but her personality makes her a better fit for a family with older children.
“Husband and wife combo, probably older children, maybe older than 12 until she gets done with these puppy years thing. She would definitely want a yard that is big, probably fenced in. Unless they would have an electric fence or something that she could run out to the boundaries and that, but you can see she likes to play and catch the ball whenever I take her outside and she loves her treats,” said Geiger.
The Animal Shelter Society is also looking forward to their “Day In The Dog House” fundraiser. The fundraiser is on September 21st and Geiger said it should be a lot of fun.
“It is just to get people to realize what these animals go through on a daily basis. Being in a kennel almost 24/7 and like I said it is the 21st of September, it is from 11 to 3,”added Geiger.
If you have a burning desire for a pet, Pyro’s adoption fee is 150 dollars, and Geiger said, the shelter suggests bringing your family down and meeting her.
