Kellogg’s facility is expanding and bringing dozens of more jobs

ZANESVILLE – The City Council approved an agreement on Monday to allow Worthington Foods Inc., a branch of the Kellogg company, to expand the facility. The building on Fairview Road will add on 10,000 more square feet and will bring 40 jobs to its workforce.
“Any time we can get an existing company to expand I think it shows that Zanesville and Muskingum County are a proven destination to not only open up a new businesses but expand your existing business so we’re very excited to see this happen. It’s going to be great for additional job opportunities in our community and they’ve been a great employer since 1989 and will continue to be in our community for a long time to come,” Zanesville – Muskingum Port Authority Exec. Director Matt Abbott said.
The city will provide project and tax exemptions for Worthington under what is called the Ohio Enterprise Zone Program. The program runs through the office of the Zanesville – Muskingum County Port Authority.
“A lot of times these projects are competitive. So, you’re competing against not necessarily a bordering county, you’re competing against another state to win these projects so it’s important that we have an opportunity to put our best foot forward as a community and offer some of these incentives to make sure investment is taking place here in our community,” Abbott said.
There are currently over 300 employees at the Kellogg’s location.
