Rescue crews recover body of driver from Muskingum River ***Update*** Driver Identified

BLUE ROCK, Ohio–Authorities said they have recovered the body of a driver whose vehicle went into the Muskingum River Monday afternoon. The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol identifies the victim as 29-year-old Marcus Malone of McConnelsville.

Multiple rescue crews were called to the scene of a report of an SUV in the Muskingum River off South River Road near Green Acres just after 3:30 Monday afternoon.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m., Divers located the vehicle with Malone inside.

Wayne Township Fire Department along with divers from Falls Township were on the scene as well as Duncan Falls Fire Department, the State Highway Patrol and Genesis Community Ambulance.

The incident is under investigation.
