The Lancaster Post of the Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal All Purpose Vehicle accident in Perry County. It happened Sunday just after 12:30 a.m.

Troopers say 56-year-old Jerry Spohn of Junction City was traveling southwest on Garey Road NE toward Old Junction Road N and attempted to turn left onto Old Junction Road N. The patrol says Spohn lost control, went off the road, struck a stop sign, and the vehicle overturned. Spohn was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

A passenger, 52-year-old Shiela Spears-Hill, also of Junction City was partially ejected and flown by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Troopers say impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash that remains under investigation.
