Coshocton Community Choir Celebrates 50th Anniversary

COSHOCTON, Ohio – The Coshocton Community Choir’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Concert was held Sunday afternoon. The celebration was held in the Coshocton High School McKinley Auditorium.
Around 70 singers participated, with 50 alums from 10 different states around the country.
Charles R. Synder, the director of the choir says its all pulled together with the details.
“Pulling together all these people from all over and having time to enjoy a dinner, last night and to look up think from the years past. Be on the radio and tv and let people know about it. Its the details,” the director told us.
The theme for the year is ‘Glory and Honor,’ focusing on the true meaning of each word.
Snyder says Coshocton is breeding grounds for musical creativity.
“To have music, art seems to be natural. There is a community theater thats been here for more years than we. A community band thats about two years older than us. There was an orchestra, symphony orchestra here back in the 40s. So there’s something in the blood here,” he said.
The average choir lasts around 3-5 years, so the Coshocton Choir is excited to far surpass that.
Auditions for the community choir will be held in September.
