Dr. Eric B. Cromwell

Dr. Eric B. Cromwell, 81 of Zanesville, died 5:51 AM, Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Genesis Morrison House Hospice.  He was born Sunday, May 19, 1940, in Celina, the son of Joseph Cromwell and Rhoda (Bice) Cromwell. He married Cynthia C. (Lightowler) Cromwell on Saturday, June 22, 1968.

He was a 49 year member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was a very active member, and enjoyed playing in the Hand Bell Choir. Eric received his Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from Ohio Northern University graduating in the top of his class, and was a Licensed Pharmacist. During his time at Ohio Northern, Eric received the Outstanding Pharmacist Award in 1962.  He also received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from The Ohio State University and practiced dentistry for over 53 years, and was a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry.  Eric was an accomplished pianist and organist, and loved both classical and country music. He was a history buff and was well read on the subject. He enjoyed motorcycle riding in his younger years, and was an avid gardener; he was also a Master Gardner.

In addition to his wife of over 53 years: Cindy Cromwell; he is survived by two children: Eric Bice (Gaye) Cromwell, II and Heidi Michelle (Joe) Zimmerman; four grandchildren: Alisson & Colin Cromwell and Shelby & Camren Zimmerman, and two brothers.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon, Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 128 South Seventh Street, Zanesville, where a Memorial Service will follow at 12 Noon, with Pastor Larry Kudart officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelic Lutheran Church Preschool or Genesis Hospice in Eric’s memory.
