The Buckeye Lake Winery Hosted Their 9th Annual Polar Plunge
BUCKEYE LAKE, OH – Many faced the cold at the Buckeye Lake Winery on January 29th as they hosted their 9th annual Polar Plunge. The Polar Plunge was a very, very cool way to raise money for charity. This was a record-breaking year for the plunge with over 200 registered jumpers, including our WHIZ sports anchor Chris Towle, leaping into the icy waters of Buckeye Lake.
Participants could jump solo or with a group of friends. It costs $30 to make a splash, and the money was raised for the United Way of Fairfield, Perry, and Licking County. There was plenty of music, food, and wine making it a fun and chill time for all who joined.
“This is a combination of the Winterfest Weekend which is a community event. So, all the bars and restaurants around the whole Buckeye Lake region participates and it’s a lot of fun. Today’s the charitable event to give back to our communities.” Tracy Higgineotham, Owner of Buckeye Lake Winery said.
The Polar Plunge was a unique and enjoyable way to bring the community together for a good cause, and it will be back next year for the annual Buckeye Lake Winterfest Weekend.
