Sheridan Tops Tri-Valley, Remain Undefeated in MVL

THORNVILLE, OH- There are a few games each year that teams circle in sharpie when a new season begins. So, when the two top teams in the MVL meet on dime a dog night you just know a classic could be taking place.
Bottom of the first inning no score, Caden Sheridan hits one on the ground to shortstop and it kicks off the glove of Brady Kaufman. Reid Packer comes around to score on the play making it a 1-0 Generals lead.
The bases were loaded with no outs and Landon Harney gets out of the bases loaded jam with a strikeout on the curveball. Tri-Valley escapes with just one run allowed in the inning.
Top of the second same score, Kaufman cracks it to deep left field and just out of the reach of Spencer Showalter. Bennet Baker crosses the plate, Kaufman gets into third with a triple.
We saw a great bunt last week by the Scotties, here is Daniel Huffman dropping one down the first baseline, he dodges the tag and gets on base. Kaufman scores, Tri-Valley takes the lead 2-1.
Now to the bottom half of the second, Showalter pokes it into shallow right field, Blake Turnes gets a solid secondary lead and that allows him to come around on the single. Sheridan ties it up at 2. They would add another run later in the game winning 3-2. The two teams also resumed a suspended game after this in which Sheridan won 5-1. The Generals are now 12-0 in MVL play and 17-3 on the year.
