Wayne Ave Will Be Restricted To One Lane For Water Service Project

Zanesville, OH:
The City of Zanesville Water Division will be responding to a request to extend new water service to a property in the 800 block of Wayne Ave.
Starting Wednesday, April 26th through Thursday, April 27th from 11pm to 7am, traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone. There will be temporary signals to control traffic, and motorists should expect delays and use a different route if possible. This is all part of a larger project for Wayne Ave.
“In the big scheme of things, this coming summer, we will be working with ODOT on complete repaving of all of Wayne Ave. They will be taking roughly three inches off and coming back and re-milling and repaving. Not only are we doing all of Wayne Ave, we’re doing the entirety of state route 60, including Maple Ave from Adair all the way to, basically, where the old Lasure farm is on the far north end of the city,” stated the mayor of Zanesville, Don Mason.
The state route 60 project is set to begin sometime after June 1st. Most of the work will be done at night to avoid disrupting traffic as much as possible. Mason told us where the project’s funding came from.
“The city of Zanesville is using some of our match money that we get on an annual basis from ODOT, and leveraging that against ODOT funds. So, the entire project will be slightly over 5.2 million dollars. I think all the motoring public will be very pleased with Wayne Ave once it gets milled and then re-asphalted, as well as with Maple Ave.”
