Explore the Haunting Downtown Zanesville

Starting this weekend the City of Zanesville officers you a chance to explore its haunted side.

Downtown Zanesville is filled with historical buildings and possibly supernatural activity. Participants in the downtown guided ghost tours will experience lessons in local history while investigating some of the city’s most paranormal activity.

“Definitely, you want to wear comfortable walking shoes because it is a walking tour. And going to several, several, several stops in downtown Zanesville. And again, a guided tour letting folks know about specific buildings and some of the folklore behind those buildings,” said Kelly Ashby vice president of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce.

Tours will be held every Friday and Saturday in October from 7pm to 8:30pm. It will start and finish at Secrest Auditorium.

“It’s just a fun way to celebrate the Halloween time. The Halloween, October is a fun month for folks to get out and do things that are fall related and Halloween related. So, it’s just a great way to showcase downtown,” said Ashby.

Reservations for the tours are required. The cost is $15 per person. You can schedule your reservation by going to the Visit Zanesville website.
