Exciting Times Ahead for Perry County Park District

PERRY COUNTY, OH – The Perry County Park District received a trio of grants and is gearing up for exciting upcoming events.
A $1,500 grant from the Perry County Community Foundation will be used for maintenance equipment, while a $500 grant from the ODNR will be used for educational materials. Additionally, a grant from the National Association of Interpretation has enabled the purchase of a digital microscope.
“A snake shed that we find in the woods, a feather, or something like that… we can put under our microscope, blow it up, and see all of the details. It’s really neat.” Naturalist, Jessie Bennett said.
The Park District is buzzing with excitement for upcoming events, including nature hikes, monthly story times, and a special bus trip to view the solar eclipse on April 8th. This trip to Richland County promises a unique experience to view the celestial phenomenon.
“It’s a cool opportunity. The last total solar eclipse in Ohio was in 1806 I think, and the next one is going to be in 2099. So, if you want to see a total one in Ohio, this is your only chance. Lifetime opportunity right now.” Bennett said.
