Take Center Stage at Discover Theatre Day

ZANESVILLE, OH – Muskingum University’s Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Honorary is calling all young, aspiring actors and theatre enthusiasts to their much-awaited Discover Theater Day.
This special event, set to unfold on Thursday, February 8th from 4 to 6 pm, is a dream come true for future stars of the stage. Designed for students aged 5 to 18, the day is packed with workshops that cover the realm of the theater. From acting and improv, to technical theatre and team building skills, there’s a spotlight for everyone.
“We’re going to have a bunch of different workshops. We’re going to be focusing on acting in one of the workshops. One of the other workshops is going to be the design aspect of creating a scene on stage. We’re also going to be having hair and makeup workshops, and we’re going to have some play writing workshops. It’s going to be a really great experience for people to learn a little more about theater and get involved,” Desiré Correa, President of Alpha Psi Omega said.
Discover Theater Day will be held at the Secrest Auditorium in Zanesville. The event is free and offers an opportunity for students to learn and explore while showcasing their talents.
“We know that not every school has the opportunity to present theatre in any capacity and even less so parts of theatre that aren’t always acting. We want to make sure that we give those opportunities to students because a lot of times people get to college and don’t even know that the other side of theatre exists,” Associate Professor of Theatre, Cassie King said.
