SOUTH ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Entrepreneurship is alive and well in Muskingum County as new businesses are starting up each month.

Derek and Jade Hague, who have always lived in the South Zanesville area, are reinvesting in their community by beginning a new coffee shop on Maysville Pike, just past the Wal-Mart.

“It was a dream of ours that started a long time ago,” Derek said. “But ultimately it’s just something we can be a part of our community and give back to a community that’s shaped our family, our children and we’re just excited to share everything.”

Central Pike Coffee offers a diverse array of coffee based beverages from Crimson Cup Products that are currently a trendy and popular consumer indulgence.

“So we have espresso based drinks,” Jade said. “They are served hot, iced or frozen. Hot chocolate, frozen hot chocolate. Smoothies, comes in four different flavors. Chi-tea, that can be hot, iced or frozen. Mocha-tea, hot iced or frozen. The Italian sodas, you can also add the Piranha Bite energy to those. I think that covers all of it.”

Central Pike Coffee aims to provide more than sweet treats as the Hague’s have developed a significant amount of their space as a kid-friendly, comfortable lounge where people have the option to socialize or just hang out.
